IP Geolocation Lookup

Find the geographic location, ISP, and organization for any IP address.

What is IP Geolocation Lookup?

IP geolocation maps an IP address to a physical location, revealing the country, city, ISP, and organization associated with it. This information is used for fraud detection, content localization, access control, analytics, and security investigations. While not precise enough to identify a street address, IP geolocation is accurate to the city level in most cases.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is IP geolocation?
IP geolocation is typically accurate to the city level in about 80% of cases for broadband connections. It is less accurate for mobile connections, VPNs, and satellite internet. Country-level accuracy is approximately 99%. It should never be used to determine exact physical addresses.
What does ASN mean in IP lookup results?
ASN stands for Autonomous System Number. It identifies the network operator (ISP or organization) that controls a block of IP addresses. Each ASN represents a network that has its own routing policy. Large ISPs and cloud providers have their own ASNs.
Can I geolocate an IPv6 address?
Yes, IPv6 addresses can be geolocated just like IPv4 addresses, though the databases may be slightly less complete for IPv6 since the adoption is still ongoing. The same geolocation services and databases support both IP versions.
