Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines what is and is not permitted on host4.ai. By using our Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
What You Can Do
Encouraged uses
- Software development and AI-assisted coding (Claude Code, Codex, Aider, etc.)
- Hosting websites, web applications, and APIs
- Building and running SaaS products
- Running side projects and personal tools
- Learning, experimentation, and prototyping
- Running development tools, databases, and build systems
In short: if you are building, learning, or hosting something legitimate, you are welcome here.
What You Cannot Do
Cryptocurrency Mining
Mining crypto in any form is strictly prohibited. Our environments use shared infrastructure, and mining consumes excessive CPU and power that degrades performance for everyone else. This includes proof-of-work, proof-of-stake validators, and any mining software.
Spam and Mass Email
Sending unsolicited bulk email, messages, or notifications is not allowed. This includes operating mail servers for bulk sending or hosting content designed to facilitate spam. Outbound SMTP (port 25) is blocked on all environments.
Torrenting and Piracy
Running BitTorrent clients or similar peer-to-peer file sharing software is prohibited. Hosting, distributing, or linking to pirated content, cracked software, or copyrighted material without authorization is not allowed.
DDoS and Network Scanning
Launching denial-of-service attacks, participating in botnets, or scanning/probing third-party networks without explicit authorization is prohibited. This includes port scanning, vulnerability scanning, and any form of network reconnaissance against systems you do not own.
Malware and Phishing
Hosting, developing, or distributing malware, ransomware, exploit kits, or command-and-control infrastructure is not allowed. Creating phishing pages or any fraud infrastructure is strictly prohibited.
Illegal Content and CSAM
Hosting content that is illegal under Romanian or EU law is prohibited. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) has a zero-tolerance policy — it results in immediate termination and a report to law enforcement, without exception.
Proxy/VPN Services for Others
Using your environment as a proxy, VPN node, or relay for third parties is not allowed. Your environment is for your own use. If you need to run networking tools for your own development work, that is fine.
Reselling Without Approval
You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to your environment or the host4.ai service without our written approval. If you want to offer hosting to your own clients, contact us about a reseller arrangement.
Excessive Resource Abuse
Running processes designed to consume maximum CPU, RAM, or disk without productive purpose is not allowed. If your workload consistently exceeds your plan limits, we will ask you to upgrade. We never throttle without notice — we talk to you first.
Enforcement
We handle violations proportionally and fairly:
- Warning: We notify you of the violation and give you 24 hours to resolve it.
- Suspension: If not resolved, your environment is paused. Your data is preserved and accessible.
- Termination: For repeated violations or refusal to comply, your account is terminated. Data is retained for 7 days for retrieval, then permanently deleted.
Immediate termination
Illegal activity (CSAM, active DDoS attacks, malware distribution, phishing) results in immediate account termination without warning and may be reported to law enforcement.
Reporting Abuse
To report a violation of this policy, contact abuse@host4.ai. Include the subdomain or domain involved and a description of the issue. We investigate all reports within 24 hours.
